Happy New Years and just a quick note for this year. With all the changes at Cycling BC we will be working on getting a calendar up sooner than later, info on Nationals and some positive changes for Cyclocross in BC.

Last race of the year at the South Surrey Athletic Park on Saturday. Not very often our season goes into December. Get out there and rip it up. Then make sure to get to the Cycling BC AGM and support Matt Klymson from West Coast racing as the new VP of CX. And stay tuned as the 2013 schedule will be up sooner than you think

Babies! They take up a lot of time. Racing at the Cross Border Clash sounds like it was a blast. EV GP of Cross goes on Sunday at Burnaby's Foreshore Park. EV has opened registration for November 10th's EV GP of Cross here. Do yourself and the organizers a favour and pre register to save some money and time. Jak always puts on a great race and I'm sure there will be sand!

Again another great weekend. Epic CX weather making for an epic race. 210 racers made it the biggest CX Provincials ever and we had a great time at the park. Keep an eye out on this page as we may need to do some work at the park and I could use some help. Results are posted.

Wow. What a weekend. Starcrossed, Cross(Port)quitlam and I am done like the turkey I will eat tonight. Great news from Local ride as they have secured the same location as last year for Pumpkin Cross. Pre registration is open so save yourself $10 and some time in line.

Big news as EV has added a second race to the schedule. The EV GP of Cross will return to Foreshore Park in Burnaby on November 10. keep an eye on the calendar for details.

Escape Velocity GP of Cross

On Sunday, October 7, Team Escape Velocity and Garneau Evolution are pleased to present the Escape Velocity GP of Cross at Port Coquitlam’s Lions Park. 

Look:  it is Turkey Weekend, so get your ‘cross bike ready, come out and race.  After the race you can go home to T-Giving dinner and throw down multiple plates of cooked bird, mashed potatoes, candied yams and pumpkin pie without feeling too guilty about it.

Although our expert course designers are still haggling over the final course details you can expect a mainly flat, grassy course complete with an off camber berm section, a ride-able (maybe.....) pea gravel pit through the kids playground (NOTE:  kids will be removed to comply with UCI regulations) and at least one set of barriers.

Time:  Sign on opens at 9:30 AM and closes 10 minutes before your start time

10:30 AM: ¾ Men/Citizen/U17 (40 minute race)

11:40 AM : ¾ Masters Men/Open Women/Masters Women (45 minute race)

1:00 PM:  Elite Men/Master Men ½ /Single Speed (60 + 45 minute race)

Entry fee:  $25.  DAY OF REGISTRATION ONLY!

New Brighton SuperPrestige is 2 weekends away and preregistration is live for that race. Save yourself some time and help the organizers out by hitting CCN and signing up in advance. Vanier is the following day and that is the real kickoff to the season.

I'm stoked to start racing after helping out with Speed Theory's first ever CX Clinic last weekend.

Atomic Superprestige BCCX Championships pre registration opens September 7. Call ups based on registration order as per last year. Priority positions only given to existing Provincial and National Champions.
